Here’s what I use and why!
I hope not to get in trouble with any one, I’m simply stating what I use and what works for me! “From Here to Alaska“ all the major retailers carry the products and or something similar, by a different name! Tried and True Tested!
Hunting Boots - Alaskan Hunter by Meindl water proof, breathable. Socks - Ultimax, smart wool, socks synthetic “No Cotton” dries fast wicks moister and controls odor. T-shirts- Underwear- MTP synthetic materials. “No Cotton” dries fast, low odor. Pants - Microtex, synthetic materials dries fast easy to wash use with thermal under wear on cold days. Long Underwear - Under Armour and MTP, top and bottom, synthetic blend, dries fast low odor. Wristwatch - (with alarm) Timex, Digital and hour hand combination You will want to keep track of your time and the time back home! Light Jacket - Dryplus, micotex synthetic material, fast drying. Heavy Coat - Extreme, Gore-tex coat that will keep you warm in freezing wet conditions with a waterproof outer shell, great for extended hunts from the Rockies to Alaska Dry-plus Mto50 and or Rain Suede work well. Hip Boots - by Cabelas. On float trips and wet tundra conditions these are one of your most important pieces of equipment. Alaska hunters and fishermen often wear these from sun up to sun down. Sleeping Bag - Alaskan with synthetic material light single layered and warm. Wiggy’s with synthetic material light double layerd and warm. Sleeping Pad - Therma-rest, self inflating type of pad, with the non slip surface. Purification system - Katadyn Guide. GPS- Garmin works great for me! Flash Light and Head Lamp - Black Diamond head lamp to be the most useful, allowing for hands free use. Surefire z2 combat water proof durable light small and “Bright” Camera and Film - Canon Digital cameras, Canon Digital video camcorders. It takes a lot of pictures and film footage to get that one good shot, so bring plenty Digital Flash Cards and film. Knives and Saw - Knives of Alaska “Alaskan” Saw “Wyoming Saw” Binoculars - Swarovski, 10X42 Spotting Scope - Swarovski Bow Martin Pro series Pantera Arrows - Easton 2315 Rifle - Remington and or Ultra Light Weatherby 300 Mag. Scope - Leupold VXIII 4.5 x 14 Meat Packing Frame - Cabelas, Alaskan Meat Packing frame. Day Pack - ? Rain Gear - Rainwear with pvc coating, trust me works great over your Gortex coat, on those cool never ending rainy days, it cost me about $50.00 dollars, On a recent hunting expedition to Alaska my buddy was going to give me $250.00 for it I said “NO”
